Japan Racing Association

The Japan Racing Association (JRA) was established in 1954 as a public entity to ensure the integrity of horseracing and the development in the breeding of racehorses and livestock in Japan. The JRA operates the nationwide network of 10 racecourses, over 30 off-course betting facilities, two training centers (Miho and Ritto), horseracing school for jockeys and stable staff, training research centers and equestrian park etc. The JRA contributes to improvement of livestock breeding and to public and social welfare from its turnover to the National Treasury and engages in various activities concerning the operation of Japanese horseracing.

The fundamental policy of JRA management is as follows.

“JRA continues to run every week.”

  1. Together with our Customers
We put the customer first and work to satisfy everyone.
  2. With Dreams and Excitement
We enhance the appeal of horse racing, which combines the power of races, the beauty of horses, and the fun of handicapping, and deliver dreams and excitement to everyone.
  3. With Trust
We steadily operate horse racing with integrity under a comfortable and safe environment trusted by everyone.
  4. With Societies
We fulfill our responsibility to society and contribute to the realization of a sustainable and better society by providing horseracing as an entertainment for everyone. We also commit to equine culture by being close to horses.
  5. And for the Future
We strive to develop horse racing with its history and tradition and create horse racing as an international sports entertainment together with everyone.
