The New Zealand-bred and Hong Kong raced Beauty Generation (NZ) shares a rating of 125 with Australian-bred Winx (AUS) and the USA-bred City Of Light (USA), both of whom are now retired. Santa Ana Lane (AUS), at 124, and Happy Clapper (AUS), at 123, round out the four.
With the Northern Hemisphere flat season in full swing the newest name in the top five of the fourth edition of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2019 is Magical (IRE) at 123.
Magical, who was previously rated at 120, is undefeated in three starts this year. Her latest victory was a seven-length romp in the Tattersalls Gold Cup (G1), and she has also won the Coolmore Highland Reel Irish EBF Mooresbridge Stakes (G2) and Alleged Stakes (G3) in 2019.
Battaash (IRE) (121) joins this month’s rankings after winning his seasonal debut in the Armstrong Aggregates Temple Stakes (G2), which he took by 2 ½ lengths. Mustashry (GB) (121) is equally ranked after his 2 ½-length victory in the Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes (G1).
The Royal Ascot meeting in England next week will certainly have an impact on the fifth edition of the LONGINES World’s Best Racehorse Rankings and it will be interesting to see who climbs the rankings to challenge the current leaders.
