Australian of the Year 2007
With an increasing focus around the world on climate change as one of the defining challenges of our time, this session will explore how sports like racing can grow sustainably and play a role in contributing to global efforts to address this most pressing issue.
Leading Australian scientist, academic, explorer and conservationist – Professor Tim Flannery – will start the conversation with a thought-provoking keynote address on the climate emergency and how we can positively respond to it. This will be followed by a panel discussion which will look at how bodies at all levels can contribute to global efforts to address climate change and help ensure racing’s long term sustainability.
