Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia comprises of an area of approximately 2,250,000 km2 (870,000 sq. miles) with an estimated population of 28 million.

The Equestrian Club was established in 1965 in accordance with the Ministry of Labour & Social Affairs Licence. The Board of Directors was formed with eight members headed by H.R.H King Abdullah Ben ‘A/Aziz as Chairman.

At its first meeting the Board of Directors formed several committees and the current committees are:

Originally racing was held in a district of Riyadh called Al Malaz but once it became evident that the facilities could no longer support all the activities a new track was constructed at Al Janadriya Township with state of the art facilities. This facility was opened in January 2003.

The main track is 24m wide, 2000m in circumference with chutes 600m long. The track has floodlights a larger screen of 50 sq.m.

The Grandstand is a 1,700 sq. m. building comprising of six floors including restaurants, private boxes, broadcast and AV facilities and seating for 3500 spectators.
